Hard to describe how good this wine really is and I drink a lot of older California Classic wines, the word Awesome was used by my drinking buddy. Opened and decanted for an hour, wine was a little colder than room temp when we began drinking it. With every sip the layers of the wine become more vivid and yet it is so easy to drink. I believe it is drinking very well now and would not say it has lost anything but tannins in the last 14 years. One bottle left for another special occasion yet to be determined but certainly plan to make it special.

Small vineyard in Warner Springs Ca about 20 miles in from the San Diego coast. High Elevation allows for hot days and cool nights. Well crafted in French Oak 20 months

Drank this and a 99 vintage side by side. Both outstanding and still have many years left on them. First thing that hits you is the intense aromas that only great cabs with lots of fruit have. We decanted these dark ruby wines but did not wait long for the first taste. The wine coats your mouth with lots of depth in the dark berry flavors. A little more tannin in the 2000 over the 1999 but as airtime increased this disolved. If you like big cabs this gets our vote.
