  • 2009 Les Pagodes de Cos

This powerful Bordeaux wine is the second wine of Chateau Cos d'Estournel, made up of 69% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest with Merlot. It is dark in color and full of darkfruits, spirces and oak flavors on the nose. The body is full and round, it got very nice strucure and tannin, though tannin is still a bit rough. We have decanted it for an hour but which i believe is not enough.

As we all know, 2009 is one of the best years of Bordeaux, to me, this Les Pagodas de Cos is even better than some of the vintages' first wine of Chateau Cos d'Estournel. Not recommend to drink now as it got so much aging potential, you should not kill an infant at this age!

  • 2000 Arlaux Champagne Millesime Rare

The twenty year old champagne is very well aged and matured. It is golden in color and providing very fine bubbles. On the nose, it still gives subtle yeast and nutty flavors that come from second fermentation and 20 years of aging. Unsurprisingly, the bubbly has great acidity and structure.

It pairs well with a lot of food especially seafood, the wine is at its peak and would remain at peak for couple more years or even a decade.

  • 2007 Château de Pressac

This is a hidden gem in the right bank with very good ageing potential. The 13 year old wine still got some fruity flavors, combined with layers of well developed tertiary flavours like wet leaves and oak. Decant in bottle for 2 hours and it opened up well without using a decanter.
