Unusually flat nose on open for a high end Turley Zinf that didn't improve at all even after 2 hours of bottle decant. Translucent ruby red as you pour in a glass reflects lack of substance confirmed by very light body on palate. Ripe cherry and strawberry fruit reveals only on a rigorous mouth swirl that finishes with strong spicy notes which is the only enjoyable component of this wine at this stage. Perhaps one off bottle or I opened this one too early.

Popped and poured in glass after an hour of bottle decant. Dark, inky purple color with over-ripe plums and bit of earth and glycerin on nose. Went all downhill from there. Hugely over-extracted, jammy oak bomb on palate with spicy finish. Out of balance acidity, tannins, and residue alcohol lead to rapid palate fatigue. Gave another hour of decant in hope of all the elements to come together which never happened. Had to stop drinking half-way through the 2nd glass. Bottom-shelf grocery store grape juice that belongs in a $5 juice can.
Got a bottle from Costco for about $50 to try based on ratings on this board. Couldn't be disappointed more but may be one-off bottle to give it a benefit of doubt based on 91+ rating on this board. Decanted for 1 Hr before first glass. Underwhelming nose, medium to full body on palate without any prominent fruit or flavor component from the barrel, and mouth-drying racy tannins on finish. Nothing ever came together over next 3 hours. May be this requires few years of bottle aging but not sure where the wine will find its fruit and flavors from, just not in the juice from what I can sense. If you love layered, aromatic complexity of California or Washington Cabs only slightly above the price range of this wine, skip this one.
