  • NV J.H. Andresen Porto 20-Year-Old White Porto

Beautiful dark golden in color. Initial oxidized nose with old wood, grilled pineapple and salted caramel on the nose. Good acidity and complex flavors of caramel, tropical fruits and beautiful acidity. This wine started off chilled, and it showed more oxidation, but as it slowly warmed up, it really blossomed into floral and tropical fruit notes on the nose and the pallet.

  • 1871 Cossart Gordon & Co. Madeira Bual Solera

This wine has a beautiful, rich, amber-golden color. It is clear with no visible sediment. It has a light viscosity that coats the inside of the glass when I swirl it. On the nose, there are aromas of lime, complex layers of dried fruit (notably golden raisins), roasted nuts, and a hint of caramelized orange peel. As it opens, subtle notes of aged wood and a whiff of tobacco emerge, adding complexity and depth. There is a great balance, almost as if this wine will be tame and reserved. But the acidity and complex flavors ramp up on the mid-palate and provide wonderful notes of stewed fruits, some salted caramel, and dried apricots. There are some nice spice notes on the long, savory finish. This Madeira (being a Solera) has a rounded smoothness to it.

  • NV S. Leonardo Porto 20 Year Old Tawny

Bottled in 2019. Light amber in color. Clear. Clean nose with caramel, vanilla, dried fruit, and very light orange spice. Extremely smooth entry with balanced acidity, orange spice, sweet toffee, and lovely dried nuts. This is such an incredibly balanced wine. Very long, sweet finish with complexity and supple tannins
