Suprisingly accessible with a 1hr decant (I've had other vintages that weren't nearly as drinkable at this youthful stage). Nice mix of red and black fruits with hints of savory herbs. Crisp acidity keeps things taut and lively. This wine will only improve with age, but I really enjoyed it now. 91+ point potential with age.

Night 1: 45 mins decant before serving; on both the nose and palate the wine's alcohol (14.5%) was quite pronounced and detracted from appreciating the wine's nuances. After a glass put a cork into to revisit the next day.
Night 2: More appealing tonight; alcohol hides in the background. Certainly a ripe expression of village Chambolle--throw this into a New World/Old Wine Pinot blind tasting for a real curve ball.

Laid in cellar: 2015 (base vintage 2014); Disgorged: 2018. Notes from memory: this lacks the complexity, depth, and character of previous bottlings that saw considerably longer lees aging. By comparison, this bottling tastes embryonic and disjointed. Despite it's current shortcomings, it has the elements to blossom in time. I'll be cellaring my remaining bottles of this disgorgement for a few years. This has been one of my go-to Champagnes, but with the recent changes to aging/disgorgement, I'll be searching for new Champagnes to enjoy in 2021 and beyond.
