  Opened and paired with olive oil and herb pork cutlets and mixed salad. Dark purple color with a crimson hue. Funky nose brings garrigue, purple lavender, and blueberry compote. The palate is full, square, and tangy, bringing a nice dark core of rhubarb, black licorice, and blackberries mixed with high-toned red cherries. Simmering beef stock, wild game, and mushroom soy sauce emerge on the tannic finish. This is drinking in a good early window now but will be best 2026-2032. Technical score: 92. Enjoyment score: 90.

  Very dark ruby core fading to pink with a thin watery rim. Expressive nose of dark raspberry, dark cherry, barnyard and sweet tobacco. Palate is of more dark red fruits and mineral. Full-bodied with grainy tannins, this leads to a medium-length aftertaste of cherry and eucalyptus.
  
  This was the third of my six bottles. The first was tasted two years ago and had much more barnyard funk. The funk seems to have receded (darn it!) and been replaced with more primary dark red fruits. Paired very well with grilled venison and mushroom risotto. Good now, but I will hold my next bottle for a couple years and the last for perhaps six more years.

  The return to a true classic (Willi's Wine Bar, Paris): Surprisingly polished and round, granted lacking a complex side but still ever so polished and smooth.
  Big wine, punchy but also the fact that is a "lesser" bottling (akin to their village bottling in Burgundy speak) makes it also lighter, softer on the ripeness and most likely makes it easier to approach younger like now. Pretty wine 91 easy.

  14% ABV. Medium red color, earthy. Nice Mourvedre blend.
