WOW!!! What a wonderfully balanced, textured, well-crafted wine from Giles Nicault at Long Shadows. Alan Shoup would be so proud of this one. Suffice it to say, this wine opens with a bouquet so complex and so well formed you are likely to "drink it through your nose" for the first five minutes or so. And then when you put it to your mouth, shazam! And the mouth-feel and finish as well are just superb. If you have more than one, and have yet to try it, do so now. Pairs very well with red meats (pork tenderloin) and cheeses. This wine has many years of development left to those who have the patience. The best wine I have put to my lips in a very long time.

Very soft, nice finish, a bit anemic in color. Nose is very earthy. If you have one of these in your cellar, and have not tried it lately, you should do so. It is either at its prime or slightly turned past it. Suffice it to say, it is not going to improve with any more age, IMHO.
