Viognier is tough to retain the acidity, and in a hot year, this is exacerbated. This smells like peach yogurt, both on the nose and on the palate. It may have benefited from not going full malolactic fermentation to retain more brightness.

The lack of acidity makes the wine feel higher in alcohol than it is at 13.5%.

Amazing California PN at 29 years old. Earthy, brambly character with forest floor sous-bois. Red fruit and slight Chinese medicinal character on the palate. Long finish with fine, smooth tannins with a velvety mouthfeel. Medium acidity brings a nice freshness in the finish, compelling you to take another sip. Delicious.
