Never disappointed from Sociando estate. I always get this complex bouquet of balsamic aromas, liquorice herbs and spice, polar mint and a hint of smokiness. Even from a suboptimal vintage, this wine is still a treat. Though, I’ve had Sociando from the 2005, 2000 and 1996 vintages and this is definitely not as impressive. On the palate, it does not disappoint, but there also is a bitter aftertaste that can be repulsive for some people. I recommend at least an hour in the decanter and a food pairing to enjoy this wine at its full potential. Ready to drink now, probably won’t get better with time.

Fruit forward, well balanced acidity and tannins are quite nice. Needs a little bit of air to reveal aromas. Very good QPR.

Light bodied. Complex aromas of cedar, dried herbs, spices. Excellent wine in its prime.
