It's gotten better. Less oak, more olive and savory notes, still backed with a good fruit backbone. Resolved tannin. Probably leaking so drink up in the next year.

For its own sake, to try it, Sat. night. Honestly had after an entire bottle of white and an eggnog. Tasted solid if a little generic. Will re-evaluate with a fresher palate and with food next time.

Am I really the first person here to have tasted this in 10 years? Anyway, purchased at the Domaine and carried home in my luggage 15 years ago, cellared ever since. This was my last bottle.
Pop and pour, nose had me worried I'd waited too long at first, having that "fully mature" thing going on, which I find difficult to describe. However, I could still detect some nice red fruit underneath that, and signs of extant fresh acidity. In the glass, poured a medium red, I don't recall if it was once darker, it's been so long. On the palate it's heavy reliance on Syrah became quite apparent. I did not get any reductive notes as previous tasters noted, but it did retain a fairly rich core as so many warmer climate Syrahs do. It even had a hint of tannin left, which worked well with the beef chuck pot roast I ate with it.
I'd call it "powerfully elegant' at this state, a mix between mature and bright with nice acidity, some mature notes that urge you to "drink up" if you have more, and in the end a fairly rich core that's far fruitier than the nose would have you expect. Medium finish.
