A classic producer from Rioja, La Rioja Alta with their third wine Vina Arana reserva 2009, which was only made as reserva until 2011. Now it is always a Gran Reserva. The years they do not make the wine Gran Reserva 904, the grapes are used for this wine instead. Mostly Tempranillo and a little Graciano. This is the third time I drink the wine and have experienced a greater bottle of variation since I tried it last. More like the first time I drank the wine.
Appearance Red core pulling towards a garnet rim.
Fragrance A classic style of Rioja with barrel management 3 years of American oak. Ripe developed fruit of raspberry and strawberry. Very clear oak flavours of dill and vanilla. ripe notes of leather and spices of Cedar cardamom.
Mouth The wine has a generous fruit character that reflects the aroma. High acidity with smooth and light tannins. Balanced alcohol barrel in the background vanilla, dill and cedar. Lightly developed tones of leather.
Conclusion Decanted the wine before just before serving. Does not need any specific aeration but is open immediately. Long to taste. Drink now or 5 years from now.Hej

I enjoyed this wine but vintaged 2016 2 years a go and was very suprised of this wine. And i was little pensive of i would feel the same about vintage 2019. appearance Ruby red colour from core to rim, very light in colour.
Nose You feel this red frut of forestraspberrys and red cherries. Floral nots of roses and voilots. Oak flavours with spiciness cardamom, ceder .
Palet Wine is very silky, balnced in alcohole, with medium acidity and silky fine tannins. Frut is slightly Warm and give you a feeling of new world pinot noir. But the intensity of frut that combine the flower nots and oak flawor give you the feeling of burgundy.
Im so happy that it gave me same feeling as last time. I decant wine just befors service but otherwise wine was very open, drink now or hold for 5 years.

The first time I try the second wine from Domaine de Chevalier as I have tried the first wine on several occasions. The wine was decanted for about 1-2 hours before serving. Appearance The core is slightly yellow more towards the golden direction with an edge that is lighter
Nose Clear fruit character with lemon and yellow apples. Light smokiness and the barrel in the background. Not so aromatic, there is a little blackcurrant leaf in the background, but the scent spectrum is more reductive. There is also a nutty and pistachio note in the background.
The palette The wine is served at about 15-16 degrees. The acidity is high and balanced. The most amazing thing about the wine is the slightly oily and waxy texture. Fruit ate yellow plums, apple and lemon. Infusing with herbality on the palette with blackcurrant leaves and hops. Slightly bitter finish.
Finnish The wine is very balanced, more reductive in style than what I have tried before. The aftertaste is long and I think the wine screams elegance. Needs some time in bottle, see you in 2 years.
