One of the better Bordeaux second wines I've had, and a nice value too. This is terrific, showing plenty of tart citrus and green apple fruit with lightly waxy/lanolin notes and oak playing supporting roles. Medium weight on the palate with bright acids, finishing perhaps a bit short, but overall impressive quality and value here.

Fresh and a lot of life. Tastes like a slightly rounded Sauvignon Blanc, which is no surprise. Minerals, lemon, lemon zest, a touch of oak, tropical fruit and a slightly chewy/oily note. Lacks some richness and nuances. Of course a rich acidity.

The first time I try the second wine from Domaine de Chevalier as I have tried the first wine on several occasions. The wine was decanted for about 1-2 hours before serving. Appearance The core is slightly yellow more towards the golden direction with an edge that is lighter
Nose Clear fruit character with lemon and yellow apples. Light smokiness and the barrel in the background. Not so aromatic, there is a little blackcurrant leaf in the background, but the scent spectrum is more reductive. There is also a nutty and pistachio note in the background.
The palette The wine is served at about 15-16 degrees. The acidity is high and balanced. The most amazing thing about the wine is the slightly oily and waxy texture. Fruit ate yellow plums, apple and lemon. Infusing with herbality on the palette with blackcurrant leaves and hops. Slightly bitter finish.
Finnish The wine is very balanced, more reductive in style than what I have tried before. The aftertaste is long and I think the wine screams elegance. Needs some time in bottle, see you in 2 years.

Tasted this at the International Congress of Chinese Cuisine & Wine, Domaine de Chevalier Masterclass at The Tower Club.
Mesmerizing nose. Very expressive. Good balance between freshness and acidity and fruit.
This is a blend of 70% Sauvignon Blanc and 30% Semilion.
