This vintage is more of a return toward pre-2012 versions. It is missing the cartoonist profile of 2012-13, although there are subtle hints of those years in the vanilla and ripe fruit. Hopefully we won't see 2012-13 "recipes" anytime soon. I like this and may buy more.

Disappointing. Nose was muted. First taste was imitation vanilla extract (just like in your kitchen cabinet). Then came some confusing fusion of stewed cherry and oak. 2012 was super over the top fake. This is just fake! Slightly more tannins than 2012. Could these be damaged somehow? Maybe from shipping un-temperature controlled from the west to the east coast (where I purchased) in the July? Don’t see how the wine could not be impacted in some way from this heat.

OMG! I've been drinking and scoring wine only for 7 years and this is the first time I said "this wine is too tight and astringent. I will give some time and come back to it"; then wait a few years to find the wine aged perfectly and is now the best wine in my cellar! I drank this a few years ago and thought it was bitter. Waited a few years, thought I would drink a bottle to finally get rid of it and WOW! I just turned the learned the lesson of how certain wines age into their best! ...only wish my wine snob friends were here!
