This was fantastic. Nicely developed, leaves, earth, spices, a touch of funk, and a distinct core of red currant. Excellent acidity and little tannin. About the only thing potentially wanting would be a longer finish. Great stuff. Wish I had more than just the single bottle.

Similar impressions as the previous notes. Smells nice. Plum, chocolate and similar to a right bank Bordeaux. Fresh, tart and medium bodied. Medium plus acidity. Light earth and chocolate notes. I like how this is restrained compared to the CA cab and Bordeaux blends. Ann liked it too. I'll wait a couple years or so before opening another.

This is a lighter, food-friendly wine. And while my tastes have been shifting from the typical Napa cabernet and blend to Pinots and lighter styles, I was craving a bit more complexity from this.
That said, it was significantly more compelling on the second day, when it gained some body and structure. My score for day 1 upon pop and pour would have been significantly lower.
Translucent crimson in the glass. A nose of bright red fruit -- strawberry and cherries mostly, with some pepper. Consistent flavors on the palate. Bright acidity overtakes the fruit in short order. Relatively short finish. This is very well made wine, and I did find it enjoyable, it's just not a fit for what I'm after.

Pop n pour. Grapes nose. Plums and earth. Taste is velvety - merlot. Decent and better than last bottle. This bottle improved dramatically on the 2nd day. Fantastic acidity, nervy merlot. A great combination of velvet and spine tingling acidity. Maybe there is bottle variation, but this one was fantastic.

Briceland Vineyards Tasting (Briceland, CA): Smells of dark plums and currants topped in loam and spicy clove. Rich but fresh, tart and vibrant, structured nicely with firm tannins. Bright black currant and crunchy plums and notes of peppercorns, roasted red pepper, loamy earth and spiced coffee. Seems like a good one to bury for a few years. Dominated by Petit Verdot, with some other Bordeaux varieties.
