My first tasting of this Spanish cava was reported on CellarTracker on 4/6/2021. I forgot to mention that the foil is light and the cork composite (glued together particles of cork), the cage is standard, the mousse rich, the bubbles tend to be medium sized, and the pressure sizeable with a resounding thunk; the importer is Pernod Ricard USA, New York City; the cava was tasted at 20 degrees C, that is, just below room temperature; if anything, the fruitiness and sweetness were more pronounced at this tasting in its pairing with Australian leg of lamb to celebrate Easter; I've raised my rating from 86 to 88; take advantage of its high QPR at Costco's frequent markdowns

Costco Wine Blind Challenge (Mi Casa): Sweet and refreshing nose, perhaps chenin, a hint of petrol, so Riesling? Yellow peach, banana and Granny Smith. Bubble is abundant but a bit sharp. Definitely not a champagne. Not much complexity but very fresh and delicious. This is a delicious summer quaffer. WOTF.

Moxie and I have just moved to Virginia, where the local Costco sells wine and beer. I picked this bottle of Cava up for under $8, yes $7.99 to be precise. That is a killer price for a traditional method sparkling wine. Was it any good? You betcha.
Pale golden yellow with a fine mousse. Aromas of bread dough, lemon pith, green apple, biscuit. Very refreshing on the palate with smooth bubbles, dry, medium (+) acidity, medium (-) bodied with excellent textural feel. The flavors mirror the nose but more on the fruit side versus the autolytic components. This blend of Macabeo, Parellada and Xarel-lo gets at least 89 points from me and 5 stars. It's my new go-to summer slurper. We are serving up some charcuterie with it. (P.s. I went back for case).

Good value. What it lacked in finesse it made up for with clean flavors of lime and lemon zest that accompanied a range of appetizers.

Bold and spry. Concentrated, effusive medium bubbles, very good acidity and balance. This could be paired with most anything.
