  • This may have been a 1er cru, I don't remember, but it was sailing, in great shape, plenty of exotic spice, fresh, aromatic, cherry, foresty, minty, sachet, etc. Quite lovely. Monopole W/J&S from B

  • 13% alcohol. The cork is of a good length, but wine penetrates it 2/3 of the way; moreover, there is no inscription of any kind on it. Not a great start.
Ruby colour of good intensity for Pinot. Good nose of red wild berries. The mouth follows suit, very fruity and lively; fairly high-pitched for a Pommard, and not exactly voluptuous as a result. I like it, but some may find it light weight. Will probably round up with a few extra years.
My memory is that this wine was not too expensive; the repeat purchase status depends on the current price.

  • Pommard generally does not leap forward in its early years like some Gevreys or Savignys. This bottle was recommended at a restaurant as showing nicely at an early stage. It is not. Very villages in tone, lacking that ethereal perfumed Pommard nose, instead offering now mostly bramble dark cherry, wood branches and some old oak. The palate was not yet unified ,slightly rough dark red cherry, wet oak, earthy melange that brought forth too much acid at times and failed to resolve at the end of the palate. Will improve with age but not a recommended buy.

  • Keep for a few year to develop. Very good potential
