LUNCH @ CALLAS (The Hague): This 1999 is open and fully mature with smoked walnut and dried honey, ending with good weight and power on a rather dry finish. Probably best to drink soon in order to be on the safe side.

Mature and elegant with rich honey, white flowers and lime. Good depth across the palate and the lengthy finish which also displays nice acid to balance the richness of the wine.

1/21/2020 - Robert Pavlovich Does not like this wine:
A bit oaky, maybe a touch of boytritis. Fairly oxidized, even for its age. Not very attractive or very drinkable for me, but hanging on in a way.

Leiden visits New Years Lunch in The Hague: Mature Batard, very expressive in nose and taste, butter, nuts, almonds. However limited length.

Absolute magic. Wonderful depth and balance. Fresh and vibrant but rich and mature. Stunning.
