I find 2016 burgs notable and this falls in line. Deep pitched, endless dark berry nose of cranberry like fruit. Concentrated, high octane, dark cherry but very lifted. Palate staining bright cherry with a dark underbelly of a midpalate that show a glimpse of potential before shutting down hardcore into a long but not fully austere backend. Hopefully a great vintage and has the stuffing, but least accessible of any recent vintage.

Pearl of Burgundy 2016 en Primeur tasting (Hong Kong): Very fragrant, red fruit with toast, bakery, earthy notes. Really great for this level, not far off the CSJ, really, at least at this young stage. Fourrier really shined during this tasting. 94+

Excellent. Great spice, ripe red and black fruit and energetic finish. Medium depth.

Domaine Fourrier Cellar Visit and Tasting (Day 9, Visit 4) (Gevrey-Chambertin): Tasting at the domaine. Also showing black cherry and plum with anise, game sausage, some liqueur and espresso. Very long and powerful with a rich finish that seems slightly backward now. 92-93 points, 2026-.

More mineral than the vv but certainly less dense than csj. A step up from the vv but not by much
