Wines Tasted at the La Paulée Verticals Session (The Maybourne, Beverly Hills): Paler ruby, cooler green nose with much less upfront fruit-earth and wintergreen > background strawberry. More typical light Gevrey body. So different than the 2 younger Cherbaudes with a more subtle, understated, elegant style. Still wonderful fruit/soil balance, supple, fine red fruit, excellent acidity, and a dryingly tannic, soil filled finish. Excellent but in need of 5-7 years of bottle aging at this point. Of all of the Fourrier Premier Crus, I knew least about the Cherbaudes but really enjoyed the trio. They differentiated themselves very well according to the nature of the vintages.

The Grand Finale: The Last Plum Tasting & Wine Sale (Chicago, IL): "It's fine." You'd hope for more from a wine that costs this much. Ripe, but red fruit, as is quite typical for Fourrier. Some elegance on the palate, with a silky texture, but at the same time, this feels more dilute than it ought to be. Lacking in tannin as well, I'm not too convinced at the aging potential here either.

La Paulée de Los Angeles - The Verticals (Maybourne Hotel - Beverly Hills CA): Walkaround vertical tasting. Fun and charming black fruit array with very good length and balance. Good already now.

Some Wine Tasted at the Acker La Paulée Auction (Maybourne Hotel - Beverly Hills CA): Tasted at auction. Ripe black fruit with wonderful balance, good enough weight. Identical to the bottle tasted the other day.
