Dark ruby in color, this wine (60% Zinfandel/12% Mourvedre/11% Petite Sirah/9% Carignane/8% Syrah) revealed aromatic notes of black pepper, brambly blackberry and spices on the nose. The mouth feel was medium/full bodied with more spices and black fruits. The finish expressed the black fruits nicely at first but the fruit faded quickly over the 60 minutes the bottle was open. Later glasses revealed a much more earthy, woody element, suggesting that the Mourvedre component came out. 14.4% abv.
Purchased for $65US/btl on the BTB list at The Ryland Inn in Whitehouse Station, NJ at a seminar hosted by my firm, this is an interesting Zin blend that needs to be drunk now before it fades more.

A nose of black cherry and spice. Palette of raspberry, chocolate, and pepper. This is a great zin blend and it went well with sausage vodka sauce last night and cedar planked ribeye tonight
