Loads of jammy fruit, primarily cherries and blackberries, with some strawberry sweetness on the end. Moderate tannins. Not quite a fruit bomb, but certainly heading in that direction. Very drinkable now and while I am positive this one still has at least a few years left it it, I'm not sure cellaring this wine will improve it much.
Startlingly intense nose -- I could smell my glass from two arms lengths away. Raisin and raspberry jam up front. A few sips revealed dark chocolate covered cherries and a hint of white pepper. This wine is quite tight, biting tannins and some heat, though not enough to throw it off balance. I don't mind young wines but in a few years, this could be even better. Off to seek out a few more bottles for the cellar.
