Vinturi aerated & 2 hour decant. Very dark red with long slow legs. Interesting bouquet of cherries, almonds and cigar box On the palate, raspberry, cherry, black currants Slight sour cherry and spice on the medium finish A medium body balanced wine with well integrated tannins The wine started out a bit harsh but mellowed and softened nicely in the glass over dinner. There's significant sediment so be careful when pouring. An enjoyable wine, worth seeking out later vintages. I think the 2009 may be at its peak now.

Slow O'd for an hour. Very similar to the 2013 Hendry Zin we shared at the same meal, but the Dickinson was brighter and a bit spicier on first sips. Air improved both bottles. Decent QPR.

Aerated by the glass. Nose of red cherry, blackberry, red licorice, underbrush and dried herbs. Red and black fruit, wood notes and fine tannins on the palate. Finishes with good length. Medium to full bodied. Served with penne alla vodka.

I've been spoiled lately by my Martinelli Jackass and Jackass Hills from 04 and 05. This is excellent Zinfandel, but for me not a standout. Nice black raspberry flavors and a smooth drink; perhaps more air will lift it up a little. Day Two: More air did indeed lift it; now a very pleasurable wine. Spicier and richer without losing its suave quality. 91 on Day One; 94 on Day Two.

Decanted. Perfectly aged. Smooth, vibrant, and delicious to the last drop. Could go another year or two without falling off, but no reason to wait.
