Wow, a wonderfully balanced, beautiful wine from Cliff Lede. The color is purple with a well-defined meniscus that is starting to bleed into violet/rust color at the edge. Still well in the window and at its plateau now. I think it will still drink wonderfully for at least 3-4 more years given the color and mellowed tannins (tannins are there but softer). Wonderful nose of red fruit. Lots of dark red fruit (but not overpowering) on the grip and mid palate, plus hints of coffee, soft oak, currant, and cocoa. A long satisfying finish.

Opaque purple color turning violet at the rim with a reflective edge. The nose gives off smoky ripe black and dark red fruits, coffee and vanilla notes. The palate is full-bodied and velvety in texture with medium acidity. At this age, I’d imagine, the tannins haved mellowed, but indicate they were once formidable. Flavors of dark cherry, black currant, plum, and mocha form the core. Secondary flavors of graphite and toasted oak have integrated so harmoniously that this has become a gracefully-balanced wine that is drinking very well now. Finishes long with dusty but ultra-refined tannins. Drink now until 2034.

High tannin even after 10 years. Dark fruits still very lively. Good amount of acidity left. Very structured wine. I thought it was wonderful. Herbal, bitter, very long finish.

Consistent with last notes. Tasted from magnum, compared to magnum of '10 Maybach. While the Materium may be more elegant, this wine was richer and paired better with the fat of a wagyu pot roast better.

Ever so slightly corked, but corked nonetheless. Disappointment.
