Colour is once again light, but here we have soft pepper and dried cherry notes, the acidity is good and quite in balance with the rest of what is going on; while the fruit is more pronounced and up-front.
Where the Can Blau seemed to raise its acid level as it opened, in the Blau it seemed to subsided and mellow out.

A blend of Carignan, Grenache and Syrah. The wine has a nose of cherry and raspberry. On the palate, the same cherry and raspberry, as well as licorice, spices and subtle hints of cedar. The wine has an exceedingly tannic finish that lasts several minutes. Notwithstanding the varietals in the blend, the wine's flavor profile is more Super Tuscan than Southern Rhone. It has the structure and tannic backbone to age for 5+ years. Remarkably complex for a sub-twenty dollar wine. Give this wine several hours of air before imbibing.

A nice Montsant, but not exceptional. Nice bouquet and color, medium bodied, good structure, pleasant lingering aftertaste, but doesn't stand out as an exceptional wine or value.

Juicy red fruits with cedar chips and a little tar. Matched a tomato, migas, and chorizo salad like the interlocking pieces of a puzzle.

Great QPR. Hard to beat for around $10.
