Still a layered, textured, bang-you-over-the-head flavor set, but at age 12 the acidity has faded. Like many past-peak wines, it was enjoyable but less a present force and more a reminder of what it had been. I waited too long.

Had the Mekara SB at Levi Stadium at a tasting there. I think it was a 2013 and it blew my mind. I paid $185 for a bottle and drank it with the host and guests at the suite we were in. I have never tasted an SB like this. Sooooo complex, So I bought a 2011. Delicious. My wife doesn't like SB but this one "had flavor". I applaud P. Melka for his effort with this year and grape. I have to admit my best SB of memory is a Markham SB from 24 years ago. Liquid Gold. This is as good. Balance, back bone, finish and "flavor". Who pays $185 for an SB? I guess an S.O.B. What’s that? Society of Blanc oenophile.

The biggest Sauv Blanc I've ever tasted. The tropical fruit is way in the front on this wine, with plenty of grapefruit to make you remember its varietal. There is oak, but not so much as to be distracting. Overall a fresh, young, expressive and yet muscular wine. I'm not sure many wines are worth $150, but at least for this price you get a singular wine.

Very different, floral, peach, mango, hint of citrus, complex..actually a little cloudy in the glass..superb. I like all the Melka wines..he also is the winemaker for Tusk Estates Cabernet..to shelf.

Enjoyed enough to buy tasting in napa (160$). But at providence it was pretty flabby up against 1er Cru white burgs.
