This was the 3L bottle. It was fantastic. Decanted an hour and a half before dinner was served. Deep, dark garnet color. Great fruit aromas as I decanted. Dark fruits on the palate with nice balance. Had with a prime rib roast. Everyone enjoyed it. And we continued to enjoy as we sipped after dinner.

We waited too long for this one. It was flat and maybe a little tart. Not enjoyable from a winemaker who is normally very dependable. Not his fault (I don't think). I will try to drink the Mountain Selection Syrah wines within 3 to 4 years.

A lot of Wines at Tommy's Clambake (again again) (Tommy's): Someone gave this to me as a wine that had a lot of value to it and I might like it. A very nice gesture, but not so much a to liking it. I opened later in the night and no one had heard of it. We all poured a glass (about 6 of us), sipped and the race to the dump bucket was on. Bitter. Thin. Weak fruit. Not worth it at any price for me. Oh well, it was a nice gesture and I give that a few points. Each to their own.

Consistent with my last note from 2.5 years ago, so that's something. Fruit is less primary now. It's in an interesting place now.
