Thanks for Jonathan for bringing. Really quite interesting to taste at age 13 as I would have pegged it for a much younger wine (like ~8years) given how lively the fruit was. Overall, nice balance of dark fruit, touch of jam and spice, long finish. Very pleasant surprise esp given the vintage.

Decanted for 1 hour. Deep ruby color. Nose really smacks of the telltale "green" notes of the 2011 vintage -- here, particularly green bell pepper. Green note is more mild on the palate, with crushed rock and allspice. Finish is quite good. Not too tannic.
Bottom line is I would not buy this wine/vintage again. Poor QPR. I think this is pretty good juice and a well made wine, but the "downside" of the vintage shows through. All that said, might be interesting to see what a 2012 version of this wine turns out to be.

Not a fruit-forward wine, but a layered, nuanced wine with excellent flavors. Think more Silver Oak than Caymus. The aromas were of red berries and just a bit of funk (but in a good way.) The flavors were red berries, a bit of oak, and a touch of earth. Medium-full bodied with an excellent finish.
