medium ruby, not very clear. sour cherry and raspberry in nose. same fruity taste in mouth, straight and high acidity leading palate (compare to other Marlborough PN), medium bodied, fine grained tannins, warm. very dry, lack sweetness to balance the acidity. medium dry finish with spice and bitterness.
compare to vintage 2010, the acidity is a little milder and moderate, but it still needs a little sweetness to lift up (it doesn't have to be sugar). otherwise, it's too lean to drink alone without food.

Appearance: The wine is bright and clear with a pale purple core and a pink rim. The wine has tears.
Nose: It is clean. it has medium intensity and is youthful. It has aromas of red and black cherry, raspberry and some hints of spicy notes such as vanilla and cloves.
Palate: The wine is dry, it has low acidity and the medium level of tannins are underripe and green. The wine has medium + level of alcohol and it has medium body. It has medium intensity and show flavours of red and black cherry and some herbal notes such as medicinal. It has hints of cloves. The lenght is medium -.
Assessment of quality: It is an acceptable wine, because it is a good example of the typicity of Pinot Noir from the region of Marlbororough (because the high level of alcohol and body and nature of tannins (because the climate) for a Pinot) , but it lack complexity of aromas and the wine is not well concentrate (dilute and weak flavours) and it has a quiet short lenght.
Readiness for drinking/potential for ageing: Can drink now, but it has not potential for further developing.
Method of production: Some parcels of Pinot Noir hand harvested, cold soaked up to ten days, cap hand plunged 4 times/day, temperature of 32°. rested on full lees in new and seasoned french barriques. Natural malolactic fermantation in spring.
