100% Sangiovese, made with the help of the small vintners around the Petrolo estate, and they are all friends since his grandfather's period. The thought was the big producers you are selling your fruit to are ruining the grapes, how about you sell them to me and we make something together? And some of these vineyards are very old so it seem very upsetting to have it go to waste.
All concrete vat, no wood at all. "I was thinking about my grandfather's wines 60 years ago when the wine were very fresh, very good acidity, crispy, not to... approachable."
And then some story about an appellation (val de supra?) where vineyards were planted since the Medici family. And they are trying to get this back, or have it back already? Inarno means around the hills around the valley of the Arno River. Which is where this is from.
He says fresh and easy - very dark fruited, smells of the concrete. Very black for sangiovese, has the acidity and finish, and it very long finish at that. A little bit on the dark black side of things.
But, if they are down south in Chainti near Berna. the flavor profile makes sense to me.

Inaugural vintage for this project. Wholly organic DOC from next year, the first in Europe apparently. Concrete only, very bright fruit, great freshness, pure, clean, easy drinking and approachable. Very good.
