Waited too long to tap into this one. On the plus side the dark berries and chocolate comes through well but on the flip side it’s beyond “a big Napa can that needs to be decanted”. It appears to be past its prime. Sad for a 2011

Deep, almost opaque ruby with a slight hint of garnet. Intense nose. Loads of black fruit and chocolate, but a slight raisined note which had me worried that I had waited too long. But on the palate, it’s full and rich, and savoury, with firm tannins and good acidity. Big, intense wine that could probably still benefit from decanting.

Apparently I held this past its prime. Closer to a port than a Cab wine. Very soft mouth feel, with almost no tannin or acidity. Fruit jammy, not quite prunes, but you can see from here.

In a harmonious stage, the 2011 Bramare Cab comes with a luxurious display of blueberries, sweet cherries, vanilla and spices. Tannins are soften and indicate wine near its peak. Full and juicy on mouth, with enough structure to keep it dry, finishing quite savory, with a hint of green herbs and bitterness. Drink now - 2017. 91

Huge rich and opulent ...many a bit too much for my normal tastes ... imagine a $150 California Cab .... for this price ...
Good to enjoy from time to time ... 2nd of 2 in cellar now done.
