Amber in color. Clean nose. Notes of dried fruits, almonds, caramel. Medium sweet, high acidity, a bit of grip. Almost full bodied. This Maderized wine feels alive. The acid keeps it vibrant. Salty long finish. Not a 40 year old vintage Madeira but I am liking this quality at this price point. Drink now or in fifty years?

My first Madeira. Reminiscent of port up front with some fig, raisin qualities and mild sweetness... and then the acid which cuts it off, drys the mouth and leaves you wanting more. Took me a couple of sips to really appreciate it but it went perfectly with the custard and fresh fruit tart for dessert.

Medium (+) tawny-brown in color. The nose is clean, with slight oxidation. Aromas of orange zest, dried apricot, hazelnuts, toasted almonds, molasses, toffee. The palate is medium sweet, consistent with the nose, with medium (+) to high acidity and high alcohol at 19%. Medium (+) body, with a long, slightly saline, nutty finish. Very bright and spicy, with years, if not decades, of further ageability.

Medium sweetness with layers of raisin, caramel and candied citrus peels. Great pair for dessert or just a bowl of roasted nuts.

Burnt toffee, molasses, that nutty, lemony dry nose and round palette. Happy to report, this may linger for the rest of the evening.
