At first opening the nose had slight funk baryard with berries...first aip was still tight, kinda berried chocolate...funky all this after 1 hour. At 2-1/2 hours it opened up and presented a Bordeaux style, berries with a slight tartness, earthy and signs of depth that actually impressed me! The tannis were silky at this point and my overall opinion increased tremendously over the original 30 minute opening. I have 2 more bottles and will wait another year to try again but I am impressed!

This is a very gracious, elegant wine from Parador. SommSelect review refers to it as being made in a European style, and that characterization suits this wine well. It has lovely dark fruits and aromas of cedar and herbs that we can't quite place. We decanted for 3 hours. Perfect. Not at all oaky or rough in any way.

I would've thought this was an old world Bordeaux blend if served blind. Big barnyard funk on the nose that dissipates after a few minutes, exposing lovely aromas of blackberries, black currant, licorice, and cedar. Silky tannins, medium body and moderate complexity, ends on a spice-driven finish. Everything is in balance.

This wine is in a great place for me - bridging youth and maturity. Had with short rib, although I may have enjoyed better on its own. Have one more - can drink now or hold for a few more years.
