Two years since the last bottle, and tasting notes largely the same. Cork soaked through, came out in one piece with the Durand. Magnificent presence on the attack, with just a hint of age-appropriate cider-sherry oxidation on the nose, still vibrant acid, lemon and red apples, great texture, integrated wood, with some curious waxy sweetness that could make one mistake this for lightly off-dry chenin. A touch simple but wonderfully aged chardonnay that is very pleasing to drink.

Saturated cork, which broke in half while attempting to ah-so it out. Moderate amber in color - much darker than the ‘95 CH last month. Nose is complex, with some apple cider notes, but not overwhelming. Palate is far fresher, showing bright acid, pineapple, both fresh and caramelized upside down cake, apples cooked in honey, and a bit of cider spice. Just the barest hint of integrated wood. Beautifully textural and a impressively persistent finish.
Still lovely and every bit as fresh on day 2 - suggests these may continue drinking wonderfully for many more years.

Lovely deep fragrance with a lot of complexity, some thinner, grassy notes, on the palate it feels more like its over the top with a fermented pineapple/canned peach flavor and a finish that is not so much in balance. I guessed old white Bordeaux or perhaps (after hearing other people's guesses, Chenin Blanc from Loire or Pinot Gris or an Alsace field blend from Marcel Deiss.

BYOB - Typical wines from classic regions (Sollentuna, Sweden): Nail polish, red sweet berries, oak on the nose. Some residual sugar, pine needle, heat, acid+, medium- length. I really enjoyed this wine.
