Showed this bottle as consumed in 2008, so I have an inventory error somewhere. What a nice surprise to find, and to discover how well this is still drinking.
Dense purple in color. Aromas of cherry, rose, leather, and tar pick up tobacco, spice, and mineral notes on the palate. Floral, silky, and still vibrant, ending with an aftertaste of fruit, underbrush, and mineral. After what must be a ten-year hiatus, I am glad to hear that Hendry is bringing back these Block 7 zinfandels next year.

Coming into its own. Lots of dark fruit without being "jammy." Parker probably wouldn't like this too much. Some spice, characteristic Zin nose, distinct vanilla as well. Prototypical Zin, and very enjoyable. Business partner was ready to wring the last drops out of the bottle!

Still going strong. Explosive nose of red and Black fruit, and very balanced fruit, oak, and acidity on the palate.

About a year past its peak, for my taste--one of my favorite Zins, but this one had traded too much big fruit for heat at this age.

Scubarex Oyster and Crab Offline (Scubarex house): Scubarex opened this at the end of the night. Typical Zin. Very fruity and a bit one dimensional for my tastes. 86 points.
