Astringent nose. Tasty, unsweetened chocolate powder. Smooth to moderate tannic mouth feel. Some bright fruit, blueberry?, taste. Enjoyed with chicken and black bean burrito. Will last for another 8 to 10 years. Doubt any improvement in taste with time or maturation.

Normally Col Solare are some of my favorite wines each year, but I drank this bottle way too early. The cherry aromas were overpowering, which gave it a kind of medicinal characteristic. After a lot of oxidation everything started to mellow out and work together, but it was still very young tasting and didnt have the great complexity you expect from Col Solare, nor the spice from a malbec (still too fruity). If I still had a bottle of this, I would hide it the cellar in the hopes that I wouldn't find it for another 3 to 5 years.

Not terrible, but definitely didn’t stand out in a group of far less expensive wines

Delicious wine drinking nicely right now. Great structure, fruit and balance. Had this with grilled steak. Perfect.
