Medium ruby. Pronounced on the nose. Rose petal, violet, raspberry, strawberry, sandalwood, pepper, spice, savoury, so much going on. Developing, mostly primary and secondary. Wine is dry, high acid, medium tannin, high alcohol, long finish. High intensity yet elegant. Strawberry, raspberry, rose, violet. An outstanding wine, well balanced, high intensity and great length. Enjoy this wine alone, there’s no need for food pairing. Drink it slowly, enjoy the aromas. Highly recommend.

tasted @Vancouver International Wine Festival 2023: Elegant, juicy, floral, perfumy, very fresh, feels lightweight in a positive way, ready for drinking. A great wine, but personally I did not like some of the flavors here. - 92 points

Right off the bat once can see that this is and excellent wine. The first sip reminds me of Jamet's Cote Rotie 2011, a lighter vintage. The wine is light and fruity at first, 13.5%, a pleasure, then smoky and savory elements emerge with dark and red fruit. The oak is providing subtle scents of sandal wood as well. A really competent wine and shows that not all Aussi Shiraz have to be heavy bruisers. I discovered Clonakilla's Shiraz/Viogner some 10 years ago and it always delivered. Prices have recently risen as the World had taken note as well.
