Brought this wine to Pudgy Grill to celebrate a birthday with my army buddies. We ordered the Wagyu Ribeye, Grilled Pork Jowl, Grilled Chicken Leg, Unagi (eel) and Grilled Cabbage.
Dark purple in colour. Notes of ash, and burnt flint on the nose, giving way to rich ripe fruits and savoury plums. Blackcurrant, spices and cigar box completes the profile of the wine.
A mouthwatering wine that leaves your palate wanting for more. Complexity and balance of the elements is amazing, bearing resemblance of a Bordeaux wine with its unique South African signature.
At this price point, I think this wine is a good bargain. Do consider getting some if it comes your way, and cellar it for the next couple of years before opening a bottle.

As good as I remember from the tasting a couple years ago. Can last many years into the future. Full bodied. Pronounced fruit with a blend that isn't dominated by any single varietal.

This is really good, drank over 3 hours and it got even better after about an hour. The fruit flavour comes through strong. Still got an acidic taste so I think this needs a few more years to peak.

At first strong VA, quickly blew off to leave light red fruited wine with hint of cedar. Over a couple of hours it really blossomed and became a deeper more complex wine, tobacco and something floral. First taste **1/2 or 87. Later **** or 93. No rush.

More redfuited and peppery. Thinner and remarkably less structured than the 2017, but still a very good effort and a nice wine, not sure I would cellar this for ten more years though.
