Bright cherrry fruit, the nose on this excites me, as it’s all the right things I look for in the nose of a fantastic wine, things like bright, energetic, linear. The bright dark cherry, also there is some plum, blackberry and earth, red licorice, leather, and cigar box. The palate completely envelopes and takes over the mouth, big tannins, especially for a wine that is already 8 years old, this has some serious aging ability to it. This has the energy that I wish Napa Cabs had, or could absolutely use.

This organic Cabernet Sauvignon has a highly aromatic and elegant nose that is still fresh with dark fruited aromas of currant, cassis, cherry, and blackberry with touches of herbs and mint. On the full-bodied palate it is firmly structured with big, drying tannins. Juicy acidity lifts the lovely aroma replays on the flavour profile. Earthy and minerally on the finish, with excellent length. A big wine that will reward ageing and drink well for at least another 10 years.

Big and serious. Dark red to purple, Very strong structure and definitely need time to air. Decanted for about 1-2 hours, didn't feel there is much difference after decanting. Smoky, dark berries, quite woody. Grippy tannins to start with and smoothened a lot. Rigid structure, yet quite flat without much surprise. Probably can cellar for a few years more to see if there are any chances.

Retail $50. Big. Ass. Bottle. 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. I received this wine from Cal d'Orcia as part of a three-pack in a wood case; a lovely presentation. While this is my first known interaction with the brand, I am certain that it will not be the last since the wines are compelling and I will certainly seek them out. This Cab is decidedly Old World in approach with dark red fruit on the nose (blackberry, plum, cassis), with some spice and earth. The palate follows the same path, with reserved fruit, impressive acidity, and an above-average finish. Very Nice.

Fantastic full bodied and well balanced Cab. Very smooth blackberry and dark fruit flavors without any overpowering cherry
