Slightly reduced nose , blew off after 15 minutes, but some overripe phenolics persisted, a bit of bubble gum and cotton candy . But there’s a party going on in the mouth, with tar, brambly black berries, and a lush mouth coating concentration that is more expressive and softer than the nose suggests. Carries its 14.8% beautifully, and finishes without an off note. 5 years of great drinking ahead.

Final vintage from the first tranche brought to tonight's event by John Vega. Many thanks to him for putting this multi vertical together for us all. Not sure of any decant time for these.
Mid garnet in the glass with a somewhat diminished nose of black fruit. The palate reflects the regal and denser quality of the '18 fruit. Smooth, slightly chalky black Zin fruit on display. Balanced, creamy black cherry fruit with more air and a hint of spice. I really liked this vintage. Thanks for supplying all these, John!

Dusty black fruit on the nose and up front in the mouth; core is mid-toned with plenty of new oak, finish is really good on soft tannins and a lick of acidity.
