Relatively rich, juicy / spicy and wide open from the PnP (respectfully pace the last reviewer...bottles vary, reference points are different) Dark & red cherries, damsons, loganberries, really deep sappy / spicy mid-pallet; tilled earth; ripe, nicely grippy - yet not at all drying - tannins. Distinctly spicy - if it's oak derived spice, it's well integrated and high quality; a suggestion of nutmeg ? A hint of something floral...Complex, more going on than I can articulate right now. Fresh, nicely balancing, acidity. This is a super - warm vintage - Burgundy.... maybe missing a little Chambolle typicality (...in its youth), but its unmistakably a Burg and undoubtedly very, very good! Easy 92 and drinking very well 'on its fruit'. Will be fascinating to see how these develop and makes me want to pick up some H_B les Cras in 2019.

This surprised me. I was disappointed on PnP, a thin acid bomb, but this was much much better on Day 2. Unmistakably Chambolle fruit - weightless on the palate but with layers of lavender, sandalwood, baking spice and black fruit. Really solid village showing - it compared favorably to the 2019 Dujac I had recently. Definitely needs more time but I like where it's headed. As to price, I paid $80 USD for it. Maybe it's a sign of the times but I'm thrilled whenever I pay <$100 for Burgundy and it delivers.

Really good, but for a village at the price point?
