End of lunch at Jade Palace. Drank in Grassl Cru. Appearance deep intensity, purple colour. Thin legs. Nose pronounced intensity, with aromas of wild blackberries, wild boysenberries, brambles. Youthful. On the palate, dry, very high acidity, low alcohol (12.2%), medium tannins, medium body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of wild blackberries and boysenberries, brambles, peppery varietal spice. Medium+ finish. Very good quality. Lovely expression of the varietal. Good drink already. A bit of a question mark if ageing is necessary at all here.

Had at Ernest as pop and pour. Too young. Bright, red fruit and spice. With a few hours of air it would likely have mellowed out and allowed some of the complexity to shine through.
