  • Double blind. Clearly less sweet than the Domaine Serene this followed. More dark than red fruit, plenty of earth. Good length. Nice but for Chambolle this is a touch too austere for my liking, missing the bright red fruit. A sign of the rather serious vintage I guess

  • Tasted next to the 2009 Les Charmes from Ponsot. Fascinating, as they both have e very different style. This is explosive and a little more modern, but has the class and cooler style of the vintage too. Beautiful notes of sweet red berries, some plums, also some ripe blue berries, graphite, rose petals and also some mint with some more air, also a touch of vanilla and spices (probably still from the oak). Medium-full bodied with medium-lower acidity and still medium tannin. Very good length. A very dense, but also elegant Les Charmes and at the already drinking great now.

  • Medium garnet. Nose of red fruit, dark fruit, spices, rose petals. On the palate the wine is a bit fizzy on the palate, I was worried but that CO2 sensation dissipated after about 30 min and the wine opened up and displayed good red fruit, elegant entry on the palate, some oak and spices. Medium bodied, good, sappy finish. 93+
