I've enjoyed this over the years. There is a darkness to this one's profile I don't remember from earlier bottlings - it lost some of its ethereal lightness perhaps. I've had a bottle of the '15 Old Viking Heart recently and honestly it was more inviting. A useful whisky but one I may pass on in future.

Served straight; apples, honey, heather, chalk, roasted nuts, and light peat in the nose; lots of ripe tropical fruits, honey, wood spices, and some peat on the palate; medium+ long finish, with also tropical fruits, toffee, and some sea salt; overall, quite enjoyable as well; so 91-92 points again.

Served on the rocks as well; creamy and fruity with tropical fruits, mild spices, roasted malts, and some peat on the smooth palate and in the lingering finish; very enjoyable, so 91-92 points.

Tasting note from a non-Scotch drinker: OMG! This is fantastic. For something distilled, this is so smooth. Complex aromas of vanilla, caramel, and smoke(peat?). Similar flavors with some honey and dark sugar and hint of acidity (citric?). Incredibly drawn out finish. I now see why people covet Scotch Whisky.

Delightfully smoky salty and scorched with licorice, toffee and creme brulee. Mild but pleasing kick. Very easy to drink. Extremely long honeyed finish.
