Had it at 3rd Corner with pork chop. A good chateauneuf. Full, dark, round and smooth. Great on opening but after an hour of air it became rather tart and a hint of sourness on the finish though which actually got worse as it got more air. Maybe the unpleasant taste was brett but I have yet to learn what 'brett' tastes like.

We let it go too long, unfortunately. It tasted of sherry and raisins.

86-87. Not a bad wine. Balanced, showed a bit of alcohol. Solid fruit with a bit of liquiorice. medium bodied.

Trip to France; 10/13/2008-10/24/2008 (Burgundy, Rhone Valley (Chateauneuf-du-Pape), Paris): Nose with bright acidity with game, leather and scorthced earth. Palate had a distracting game/brett character, with some dark fruit, fig, and mushroom character. Medium finish. Too much brett for me.
