Required decanting for +1h to open up more. Medium(+) notes of leather, mushroom and hay which blew off the top to reveal more elegant fragrances of violets and black plum, black cherry. Finish was long, and structure was well integrated with softened tannins and an acidity that still held the wine in one piece. Wouldn't have let this age for much longer. Very high quality wine, but not as enveloping as I might have hoped in comparison with better vintages.

(Potel Nicolas Pommard Pezerolles) Lovely dark, dried fruits on the nose but just needing a little more focus. Ripe and with plenty of tannin that’s a little less astringent than the Santenots but with more grain. A nice follow-through of flavour into the finish. I think this will be very nice.

Surprisingly developed for a 06. Decent wine but nothing special.

Slim and vegetal Potel-style, but developed a beautiful nose.
