  • Savory meaty notes with darker Grenache fruit, lavender, asphalt, and salt cured olives on the nose. It's full bodied, rich and savory, but a little foursquare. Dense and powerful with old vine sap and palate impact that is to some degree at the expense of balance. The sappiness comes off a little thick, but I am being picky here, and this would be a plus for many people. This is very well made solidly traditional CdP drinking well right now. No reason to wait.

  • Savory and meaty with an odd smoky woodsy side that blows off with some time and morphs into cured meats, black olive tapenade, iodine, and provencal herbs. The palate is better than the nose here. It's full bodied and deep with sap and density, but it's not fat or blowsy. It's on the darker more savory side of Grenache, with more dark berries, roasted meat, iodine, white pepper, a sense of stoniness, and dried herbs. I like this old school savory more than fruit style. Drinking very well right now.

  • Deep garnet hue with only mild bricking. Rather subdued nose with scents of cherry (subtle, not bombastic), white pepper, earthiness, resin and a hint of Band-Aid. Cherry picks up a bit on the mid-palate and finish but this wine is no fruit bomb. Nice acidity and balance and a fine showing overall. This wine won't improve but well-stored bottles should give pleasure til they turn 20 or so.

  • - Garnet color with medium forming legs. It's somewhat balanced and has flavours of black pepper, black currant and dusty with a medium body. Round texture with a short finish - Decanted and set for 4 hours. Very little on the nose. Hint of earthiness. Soft tannins. Overall, pleasant and surprisingly smooth with no evidence of over age. Cellared well.

  • Opened yesterday, poured without decanting. Slight bricking, orange tinged ring, nose was almost repulsive.. Very earthy, barnyard like... No hint of fruit ... Taste was quite different from smell.. Soft tannins, black cherries, tobacco, complex. Decanted today... More fruit coming out in the nose but still earthy... herbal, you can almost taste the soil..lots of layers. Definitely old style.. Not one the fruity jam-bombs produced for mass consumption.
