similar to the 2011 tasting with the exception that it was much smoother and not as rich in dark fruit flavors. This is getting past its prime.

Las bottle. Licorice still a back note and tannins still very present. A little worried that it hadn't held up, but now I want to see if I can find some more.
Rich, velvety purple. Muted aroma of black cherry. Balanced palate. Like 1980s pop star Tiffany: pretty to look at, but decidedly unconcentrated and will rapidly fade into oblivion.
Black olives menthol little or no fruit...maybe hint of prunes--below average for vin de pays but acceptable with hearty stew
Deep red with a dark purple center with aromas of plums, dark cherries and cedar. It was balanced, smooth with medium tannins. It had a long finish with rich dark fruit flavors.
