(Montepulciano, Sangiovese, Primitivo, Negro Amaro and Malavesia Nera). Deep red-black Super ripe aromas of raisin, dried blackcurrant, Christmas cake, ginger parkin, dried fruits over baked with evident oak spices and a savoury overlay. This wine is full-bodied and is a punchy full-throttle wine right through to the finish. The tannins are sweet but thick, the texture is rich, plenty of extraction. Flavours are all at the super-ripe spectrum with black fruits, prune juice, Christmas cake, thick pile carpet, smoke, BBQ sauce, smoked meat, melted demerara sugar and rum punch spices - like Gluhwein! As the wine unfolds the spices accelerate with nutmeg, cinnamon and a balsamic note. All along there is a sour acid underbelly that keeps the wine together but this wine is power over grace. Weighty and purposeful, it was certainly intriguing. Very much a winter wine.

Cupissimo rubino.

Interesting IGT blend with 5 native varieties (Montepulciano, Sangiovese, Primitivo, Negramaro and malvasia nera) and two Italian regions: Abruzzo and Puglia Color is purple, very dark, almost opaque Bouquet: Intensely fruity (prunes, blackcurrant). Also some eucalyptus and balsamic notes. Nose then opens to a multitude of nuances To the palate: smooth, supple entry, good acidity, then really jammy, dense, well ripened fruit: currant, grapes. Tannins are well-integrated almost tamed. The fruit tends to overpowe
