I had this bottle upstairs for several days at 74F. I opened it up to give it some air, but because of the temperature, this was an awful example of Petite Sirah. I put the decanter in the refrigerator and cooled it down about 10 degrees and it become drinkable, but just barely. It was really dominated by High ABV and strong tannin with some cooked black fruit swirling around in there with an oak flavor. I really think this was a flawed bottle, because The first 2 bottles of the case tasted excellent, and this was just horrible, even with air time. I will make sure to open this right after coming up from the cellar next time, where it will start at 63F. The fact that it has heavy tannin does make me wonder if this just needs more time. I may wait another 6 months or more before trying again. Too hot for a Summer wine.

Very impressive effort on Beringers behalf. Very different from the central coast wines, maybe because it has had some time in the bottle. Great loads of dark fruit with mouth coating chewy tannins.

Again dominated by the fruit, but smooth tannins and this time the ABV was noticeable. I should have decanted it.
