After I visited Galicia 15y ago i chased all Albarino wines I could get here in the Netherlands which weren't that many and always started at 10 euro, a normal price for a low yield grape. I was therefore surprised to find last year two Albarinos in the supermarket for a much lower price, this one in Albert Heijn, one in Lidl. This one has indeed a too bitter aftertaste, described as 'grapefruit' on the label. The one from Lidle is better.

Has improved even further, with ripe apple and pear fruit balanced by cool freshness and minerality, just a slight hint of bitters from the skins. Not complex but a nice enough drink by now.

Compared with six months ago there is more apple and pear fruit; the bitters are still present but they don't stick out as much. Altogether more pleasant with a little more bottle age.

Monthly Tasting Group HWS #090; Albariño / Rias Baixas (By IL): A bit green bouquet with grasses and citrus. On the palate green apple, citrus, pineapple, a touch of sweetness and some bitterness. Correct wine, but nothing special.

Nicely floral nose, fresh, but with rather dominant and unattractive bitters from the skins. Not flawed but not very well made either.
